Celebrating!

Tonight we celebrated being the parents of our new daughter by heading to one of our favorite restaurants... Pei Wei! Eli had his own celebration at Nana's house, which was equally exciting as she had just purchased some new toy dinosaurs :)

The above picture is us smiling with joy because we have a beautiful new daughter whom we can't wait to bring home! Our agency takes the conservative stance when it comes to posting pictures of her, and advises us not to post any pics on websites until we travel. So, you'll have to wait a bit longer to see her gorgeous face on this blog.

We now wait to be assigned an appointment date at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Hopefully we'll know what the date is within a few weeks! We're crossing our fingers for September travel dates :) We know our agency has two reserved Embassy appointments in September, and each appointment can accommodate 10 children... so we're hoping to be in one of those two groups.

Stay tuned...

  1. Congratulations! We're excited for you (halfway across the country in Indy), even though we don't know each other.

We're with the same agency and were approved by court last week and have found ourselves scrambling to get ready for a potential September travel date, too.

We'll be praying for you as your newly-expanded family continue to wait and prepare (and wait some more). Who knows? Maybe we'll see you in Addis!

  2. Congratulations again!! So very excited for you!! We love Pei Wei too :).
You asked about the vacation deal...yes, we found it on craigslist--a week timeshare that the person couldn't use. It has been so nice!!

  3. I am so glad to be FINALLY crying tears of joy for you guys! Your blog captivated the "adventure" of adoption so well...but your latest posts have made me feel so excited that tears are running down my cheeks. Every time I wear my "4 Africa" shirt, a total stranger asks me what it is about, and now I can proudly tell them a fantastic ending to our hopes.

Is it too early to volunteer for babysitting? If there's a list, put us on top! :)

Thank you for your inspiration. So blessed-Love you guys! Lindsey
